What a great 50th Anniversary Celebration! So many highlights to report.
- A loud church, in a good sense, with 278 voices in song and prayer (I thought it looked like more than 278 – God knows)
- Great music, with a larger than usual choir and exceptional trumpeter (great job Mr. Hoelter and Praise Band; one former member commented how much they enjoyed the traditional and “modern” music together in the same service – I agree!)
- Huge thanks to the 50th Anniversary committee for planning, decorating, and some of them pitched in to help get the Fellowship Hall ready
- Huge thanks also to the construction committee and Laborers for Christ, for their continued (constant) efforts to (mostly) finish the Fellowship Hall in time. It looks fantastic!
- For Prince of Peace members, it must have felt like homecoming – so many people from different eras, all united by a connection to this church and faith in Christ.
I hope that great crowd of 278 (or more) puts a vision in our minds. More than one member said, “Wouldn’t it be great if it was that full every week?” It can be.
If 50 of our families reached out to one other family this next year, think what a huge difference that would be. Not that the goal is to fill the church – the goal is to fill hearts with Christ. A full church is a natural byproduct.
Think of one family that you know who is unchurched or de-churched and is ripe for Christ to come into their lives and make a plan to work on that person/family over the course of the year. Our church can be full like that again – not just on special occasions, but every Sunday.
